We typically recommend puppies are between 10-12 weeks old before they go home with their forever families.

The AKC (American Kennel Club) is an older dog registry than the ACA (American Canine Association) with specifications for registration that differ slightly. Both organizations offer the opportunity to register and track the lineage of the dog, as well as participate in dog shows and other events. All AKC registered puppies come from two AKC registered parents.

There are different pros and cons to both organizations, but neither registration guarantees the health or quality of a dog. Thus, it is important to find a reputable breeder that has done genetic health testing on the parents.
